Standard Membership: Clinical Practice + Advocacy

You may qualify as a Standard Member + Advocacy & Legislative Surcharge if you hold:

1) a Doctorate in psychology, 2) a license as a psychologist in the State of Hawaii, or 3) a Diplomate of the American Board of Professional Psychology.

The included Advocacy & Legislative Surcharge is $150. This applies if you earn more than $2000 per year from clinical services.

Standard Membership

You may qualify as a member if you hold:

1) a Doctorate in psychology, 2) a license as a psychologist in the State of Hawaii, or 3) a Diplomate of the American Board of Professional Psychology.

The Advocacy & Legislative Surcharge does not apply if you earn less than $2000 per year from clinical services.

Early Career Member - Clinical Practice Year 1 and 2

For individuals who graduated with a doctorate in psychology within the last 4 years and have been in clinical practice 1 or 2 years.

Early Career Member - Clinical Practice Year 3

For individuals who graduated with a doctorate in psychology within the last 4 years and have been in clinical practice 3 years. The included Advocacy & Legislative Surcharge is $75.00.

Academic Member

For individuals whose primary affiliation is in an academic setting and who earn less than $2,000 per year from providing clinical services.

Active Duty Military Member

For individuals whose primary affiliation is with the active duty military and who earn less than $2,000 per year from providing clinical services.

Associate Member

You may qualify as an Associate Member by holding a Masters Degree in psychology or equivalent as the highest degree.

Student Member

For individuals who are enrolled full-time in a post-baccalaureate degree program in psychology.

Out-of-State Member

Individuals who qualify as Full Members residing out of the state and wish to participate in HPA.

Affiliate Member

Individuals interested in the purposes of HPA may qualify as Affiliates, regardless of their academic training or place of residence.

Life Member

You may qualify as a Life member if you are fully retired (65 years or over) and have previously been a Full Member of HPA for at least 20 years.

There is no annual fee for Life Members.
